HIGHLIGHTS

The Balaton Raid in Hungary is suitable for Enduro, Buggy and 4x4. 

This seven-day raid with five days of riding takes us on varied routes through the beautiful, soft hilly landscape around Lake Balaton. We spend the nights in typical guest houses and pass castles that are well-known across the country's borders. A highlight is the landscape of Little Lake Balaton, which we cross on the penultimate stage.

WHY WE LIKE THIS TOUR

The daily stages are between 120 and 160 km long. The level of difficulty is tailored to beautiful and relaxed enduro riding through the hills of the Hungarian Lake Balaton region. The tour is structured in such a way that we don't start too early in the morning and reach the midday point after about 3 hours and then the hotel in another three hours. We have enough time for lunch and a cozy get-together in the hotel in the evening to enjoy the tour. Hungary is very special and you will fall in love with the hotel and restaurant on the first and last night - you should take an extra day to enjoy this location.

Buggy and bikes have similar routes, the buggy route is slightly shorter.

 

THE RIDING

The riding on this tour is simply great. Back to the roots of Enduro. You ride through the soft and green landscape of the Lake Balaton area in Hungary. The tracks are varied and will be a little bit tricky when wet. Although the riding on this tour is by far not extreme Enduro your will love riding like in the beginning of Enduro.

DURATION AND ITINERARY

This tour lasts for 7 days, with 5 days of riding. The package includes 6 overnight stays including breakfast. There is no rest day during the stages of the raid but you can shorten the days or take a day off when you feel that you need.

We have set the itinerary so that we are not under pressure from limited time and have flexibility on our day-to-day routes. We will have overnight stays in unique and comfy hotels, eat in good restaurants, and the schedule also provides plenty of time in the evening to eat, drink, and be merry!

This amazing adventure of the Paprika Raid in Hungary will occur as follows:

Day 1 
Arrival in Hungary on your own, overnight in Csepreg.

Day 2
Stage 1 reaching the Lake Balaton, overnight on the way.

Day 3
Stage 2 down to the south bank of the lake, taking the short ferry boat, overnight on the way.

Day 4
Stage 3 round trip in the south, overnight in the same hotel like the day before.

Day 5
Stage 4 heading back to the north bank of the Lake Balaton, overnight on the way.

Day 6
Stage leaving the Lake Balaton and back to the hotel where we started the raid, overnight in the town of Csepreg.

Day 7
Departure.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL

This tour is made for easy level riders who love to ride Enduro through amazing landscapes exploring nature. The riding level is accommodated during the rides. Beginners and less-capable riders have the option to shorten the distances of the stages, and to opt for small gravel or asphalt roads to the hotel.

BEST TIME FOR THIS TRAIL

In Hungary at Lake Balaton, ideal weather conditions occur between March and November.

TRAVEL AND TRANSFERS

You will arrive to the Vienna Airport where you organize yourself for the approx. 1,5 hours travel by rental car to Csepreg, the starting and end point of the raid. .

We can arrange a transfer for your (not included).

ACCOMMODATION AND BOARD

For the first and last night in Csepreg we stay in a very authentic hotel with a pool, a small SPA and an excellent restaurant. You will fall in love with this place and should take an extra day before or after the tour to enjoy this place.

Breakfast is in all overnights included. For lunch we will stop at local inns on our way, for dinner we go to restaurants nearby the hotels where we stay or you take in the hotel (not included)l. Drinks are not included.

MANAGEMENT OF THE TOUR

A tour manager will be available for the whole duration of this tour. Please turn to him regarding any questions, information, or issues.

MOTORBIKES, FUEL AND TYRES

On this tour, a rental bike or buggy and fuel are included. We have KTM, GASGAS and Husqvarna 2- and 4-stroke models available. All bikes are the latest models, professionally serviced, and in excellent condition. The bikes come with tires in good condition suitable for the ride with mousses and are equipped with closed rally guards, motor skid plate, and fan. For buggies we have CF Moto and Arctic Cat in service.

MOTORBIKE SERVICE

On this tour, a professional mechanic services the bikes, with the service car meeting the riders at the lunch point and in the evening (where accessible) to fuel up and perform repairs. A spare bike is available.

DAMAGES ON THE RENTAL BIKE AND BUGGY

We do not charge for normal wear of the bike (like scratches on the plastics). On this tour an insurance (CDW – Crash ‘Damage Waiver) is available which covers damages on the bike. See the terms of business for details.

EQUIPMENT AND GEAR

Minimum Enduro gear includes a helmet, goggles, elbow protectors (we recommend a protector jacket), gloves, pants, knee protectors, and Enduro boots. For this tour a good rain jacket and a backpack with 2 liter of water is mandatory.

Deposit 1.000 EUR at booking, the balance is required 60 days before tour start.
